Snowboarding

Summary: fleeting moments of enjoyment dotted in among hours of deep concentration, trepidation and soreness, some moments of incredible pain and consistently good craic. I’m glad I gave it a try and was in great company, but ultimately, I just didn’t enjoy snowboarding enough to want to follow it up. I think I'll stick to motorsport for future adrenaline rushes.

Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained. At least I won't die wondering what it might've been like. Many thanks to Gav and his family for giving me the opportunity (and especially to Bill for the loan of the board). Maybe we’ll be able to get you on a trackday holiday to Finland sometime...? :)

Comments:
Hey Mal it's Gav. Thanks for the comments mate, appreciated.

For everyone else out there, I'd like to say that I think Mal was OK on his stick - certainly better than he thought he was. Yeah learning is painful sometimes, but Mal had pretty solid technique.

The holiday was class, and the group that we had made it better. I don't think Mal should write it off just yet - although if motor sport is competing for funds then you've got to go with your favourite.

Don't forget - there is always skiing! LOL! Poncy skiers! Hooper - that's you btw :-)

Keep an eye out next year... I think I'll be busting some 540's - and maybe some 7's too!
